Dallas-based Davenports Science Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend with a special event to commemorate the museum’s 100th anniversary.
The museum opened its doors in 1901 and has since been featured on ABC’s “The View” and The Hollywood Reporter as one of the most influential museums in the country.
Its mission is to promote the arts and sciences.
“The museum has been at the forefront of the arts in Dallas, Texas for over a century and we’ve been in the spotlight of science for a very long time,” said museum director David Cote.
“It’s our responsibility to keep it that way.”
“Star Wars” fans are in luck.
DavenPort Science Museum will open to the public on Friday.
The show will feature a special Star Wars-themed opening party and will include a “Star Wars Star Wars” interactive exhibit.
The show is scheduled to run through Feb. 12.
Tickets are available at the Daven Port Science Museum Box Office, Ticketmaster locations, by calling 1-888-959-8255, or by visiting www.davenportssciencemuseum.org.
